Harriet Garfinkle is represented by agent Lisa Bankoff for  WALTZING ON OUR KNEES, a literary psychological suspense.



Harriet, an award winning artist, has been a student and teacher of movement all her life. ​ Between 1975 and 1989 she danced professionally in the San Francisco Bay Area with such notable companies and choreographers as ODC/SF, Betsy Kagan, Helen Dannenberg, Deborah Slater, KADEKA Dances for Kids, Anne Bluethenthal & Dancers, and Martin Kravitz. She was a founding member and co-artistic director for The Bureau of Western Mythology, an experimental theatre company and TALLGIRLS, a dance company. 

She is proud to have choreographed the original play, Purple Breasts, a play about one woman’s struggle with breast cancer, which toured internationally to much acclaim, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.


She attended the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, México in 1972, when it was a hip and happening scene. She continues in her love affair with México, where she owns property in Zihuatanejo, Guerrero. She has two grown children, a son-in law, a daughter-in -law, and two granddaughters.


She teaches Pilates, Franklin Method, CoreAlign, and the Alexander Technique at her home studio Woodside Pilates in Emerald Hills, Redwood City, CA.

Her  current WIP  is a thriller FAST FORWARD/SLOW REWIND
